Sarnath is about ten kilometres from Varanasi and an easy, peaceful day. We visit the stupa, the ruins of the monasteries, the museum that holds the Lion Capital of Ashoka, and the modern temples built by Buddhist countries.
The Sarnath Museum is closed on Fridays, so we plan this tour on other days.
