Ayodhya Darshan Guide: Ram Mandir, Hanuman Garhi and the Saryu Ghats

Ayodhya is a compact town and most of its temples are within a few kilometres of each other. A full day is enough for the main darshan; two days let you add the ghats and the quieter temples.

Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir

Start here in the morning, when the queues are shorter. Phones, bags, and electronic items are not allowed inside, so leave them in the hotel or the lockers near the entry.

Hanuman Garhi and Kanak Bhawan

By tradition, pilgrims visit Hanuman Garhi before or after the Ram Mandir. It sits on a small hill reached by about seventy steps. Kanak Bhawan, a short walk away, is known for its idols of Sita and Ram.

The Saryu ghats

End the day at Ram ki Paidi for the evening aarti on the Saryu, or visit Guptar Ghat for a calmer walk by the river.
